On thursday November 12, 2020, I interviewed Ms. Ayanna Mayes, a school librarian at Columbia High School. She didn't find it robbery to accept this interview invitation at the last minute. The interview was very informative and I believe I found another library friend. Hello Everyone, On this evening, I was able to interview the lovely Ms. Connie Hollin, a K-6th grade School Librarian in Campbell County School District.Yet again, I met another sweet librarian that loves her job, and her wonderful students. The Shared foundation, domain and competencies for Ms. Connie are listed below: AASL Standards Shared Foundation IV: Curate Domain- A. Think Competencies: School Librarians challenge learners to act on a n information need by: • Modeling the response to a need to gather and organize information. • Guiding Learners to make critical choices about information sources to use. The interview process was so comforatable and welcoming that we spent over 45 minutes talking all about library stuff. Some ways that Ms. Connie models a need to gather and organize information is by showing students the importance of notetaking, finding relevant resources, and learning how to shred through useful information. On today, November 3, 2020, I was able to interview Mrs. Beth Janssen, a K-12 School Librarian at AGWSR Community School. She is the only Media Specialist amongst the 632 students that attend the AGWSR. Beth's polite, and hilarious personality immediately brighten our meeting. At first, I was nervous about interviewing these librarians simply because I feel as a intial certification student, I have so much to learn. I did not want to go in not knowing what I was talking about or sounding like the newbie as I am. However, Ms. Beth made this process so much easier. We begin talking about the basics of her library program. You can tell by the way that she explained her program and the wonderful things that she has done since being a librarian there, that she loves what she do. We spent over 2 hours talking before we actually got into the purpose of the interview. On today, November 19, 2020, I was able to interview the lovely Mrs. Amber Glade through a zoom videochat. Ms. Glade is a seven year Pk-12 school librarian at Morristown Central School located in Morristown, NY. Instantly we connected! It's just something about meeting librarians that makes me so bubbly inside. I love hearing about their experiences. Well before I get off topic, let's continue on with the purpose of the interview.
